Nerdy Nails

 So today I thought I would share some of my favorite nerdy nail designs that I found on the web. I don't know who's hands these belong too. But I love them None the less. I went out of my way to try each one of these designs on a finger.
    Let me tell you before you invest thinking that these are super simple easy to do nail arts. Its not. To get one hand done it took me 3 hours. It was a long journey and most of them turned out TERRIBLE because I am bad at nail art.
   The easiest by a long shot to do was the Pokeball nails. Its what I

Chose to go with for my whole hand, though I dare not try it with my left hand. It was hard enough with my right! People that can do both hands easily are very impressive people and deserve the highest praise.
   The hardest for me to do and it came out a total mess was the pokemon faces and miss Packman. If you don't have practice with nail art, I suggest you back away slowly and do not try to tame the beast that is nail art unless you want to look like you were attacked by a box of rainbow markers. And I sure hope you have nail polish remover.
   My second favorite to do would be the PlayStation nail art because I love Playstation and every game I have ever bought from them. Plus it is super simple to do and you will get all the complements on them fine nails of yours.

   Music lovers feel left out? Fear not my little friends.  There is a cute nail design out there for you. But boy is it hard to get the lines right. I erased my nails and started over 4 times trying to get the Orange one done. (Look for the picture) straight lines are hard to do when you have shaky hands.
   I suggest investing in 3 things:
1) Nail Polish remover
2) Tooth Picks
3) Tiny Paint Brushes
   Now you may be asking, "But Alyssa, Why  tiny paint brushes if we have tooth picks?" And I will tell you why. Because Tooth picks don't hold a lot of polish! The most your going to get of of it is a tiny boop of

Paint. Which would be good for the little dots at the bottom of the music notes. But what about yoshi's eggs? That requires a bigger boop. But maybe your regular nail brush is too big and would put too much polish. I like to use a tiny paint brush for these moments.

Lace Flats + Rosegal.com Worth the Money?

So I got these super adorable flats online at Rosegal.com For $24.22 and I must say I love the way they look. I love the hard sole so they arn't going to wear down super fast if I wear them a lot

Now what I do not like at all is that these are a size 8 US. but at the same time. There is too much going on inside the shoe. so its more like a 7 US. and I wear 8's so It was super dissapointing. I can't wear them and I have to go out of my way to figure out how to strech them out so that I can. That is most certinly not what I want out of a shoe. so if you have bigger feet like me I suggest buying a size larger so you don't have this problem. But also sadly size 8 is the largest US size they have for women shoes. Its a big dissapointment and I don't think I will be buying shoes from them again any time soon. If they fix the size problem then I think I might but I really wish they would correct the size chart.

I bought some other cloths from rosegal.com and only one thing fit me. I bought large and extra large. Checked the comments and reviews and the size chart plus size converter. They should have fit. What they don't tell you is that its a large in KIDS. I was so dissapointed. I have a 10 year old sister who would barely fit anything I bought. These cloths are supposed to be for adults! I'm not an overly tall or bulky woman. a large/ x-large should be able to fit a 5'8" Woman. But they don't. You have to be a size 0 to fit in there largest half the time. The other half a size xx-large to fit in a medium correctly. Overall the store was just dissapointing. At best they get a 3/10.

On the bright side. My little sister now has 2 super cute dresses shes going to get for her birthday.

Maybelline New York Lip Stick in Peachy Scene (525)

So This is my favorite lipsitck. I am biased though, First off this is the first lipstick I ever bought because for a long time I didn't put color on my lips, just chapstick or lipgloss.
Secondly this lipstick was picked out by my love because he thought the color fitted me. I tried it on after I bought it and I loved it so much! I wear it under basicly every gloss I own. Don't want to look over the top? Or maybe don't know what to use today? this lipstick is just perfect base and I love the color SO much.
This lipstick sells for about $5.50 at drugstores and is highly pigmented. So the color you get is going to be exactly what comes out onto your lips. So be careful trying new colors with this brand because it might be too strong when you try it.
I love this lipstick so much and i give it a 10/10 and usually Maybelline is not my go too for products but I was very plesently suprised with this lipstick.

Love Hollow Out Candy High Waist Sweet Shorts

Lets talk about something else for a moment. Look at these shots. These shorts are amazing and adorable and I must have a pair. This is going to be my next buy when I get cloths for sure.  I love the purple pastel ones the most. I love that they are high waisted. I LOVE the cut out heart on the side. What I don't love is that they are only Japanese sizes which is quite a bit smaller then me. But I am a bigger lady trying to loose weight. But I promise the moment I loose enough weight these are my go to buy.

CoverGirl Classic Color Blush in Iced Plum (510)

This is the blush I use on date night. It has a hint of sexy to it. It's playful and sexy and coy. Makes you sly like a fox. This is my favorite blush for when you want to go out on the town with a bit of a darker color then day time. Lightly dust it on pale skin to make your skin glow. Or put a little more for darker skin tones. I feel like this color will give you a girly/cute tint for darker skined girls. Or a hit of mature in paler skinned girls. I'm not exctly sure about the first because I am not dark skinned but I feel like Iced Plum is a beautiful hue all around.

It goes for about $5-6 at most drug stores. Personally I do not like the little brush that comes with it, its rough and does not really cover the cheek bone correctly so I just throw that out.

I would pair this with a rose red lipstick for pale skin. Maybe a plum colored lipstick for darker skin with a simple winged eyeliner to top it all off. Sometimes I would add say, some fake lashes for a touch of sexy. Or if you want a redder tone during the day, I would use this Blush sparingly and dust Rose Glow over it for a brighter red for a more harsh look. Not harsh like I don't know how to do my makeup harsh but a skater look harsh.

Maybelline New York Lip Gloss (No Idea Which one)

So I found this lip gloss at walmart, I bought it on a whim. AND I LOVE IT. I wish wish wish I knew what type it was. What color number is it. I love this lip gloss to death and all I know is that it is labled Maybelline New York. \(T-T)/ I think I bought it for about $5 and I can't seem to find it online.

This color (Peachy/Apricot) goes great with the blush I posted just a moment ago.  (Rose Glow 020) I usually wear it on top of a calm peach colored lip stick, but its also great just by itself. Most of the makeup I have at the moment is for spring, So Of course it goes great for spring/summer! I would pair this, Rose Glow, and A light pink eyeshadow for the perfext spring time glow.

If anyone has any idea what type of lip gloss this is please let me know in the comments below! I would like the name of the type of lip gloss. If no one knows, no worries! I'll head back out soon and find out just exactly what this beauty of a lip gloss is. I'll let you guys know the type and color that I bought so you guys can try it out yourself!

Revlon Blush Palate in Rose Glow (020)

Rose Glow Palate

So this is my favorite blush to use. Hands down I use it everyday and I need to buy my second palate soon. Its a little shimmery and has a light color that gives your cheeks a warm glow that makes your face come to life. Its a great color for spring and summer. It goes great with pastel colors and floral prints. Want a warm summer look and your darker blushes just are not doing it? BAM beautiful rosey cheeks with a light shimmer when the sun hits your face just right. It is a little pricey to get but blushes are something you use a little of so it goes a long way. I bought mine for $10 which is pricey for me because the most I spend 10 dollars on is eyeliner because cheep eyeliner is just a total no-no.

Sally Hansen? Hard as Nails and Double Duty

Double Duty

So I bought Sally Hansen Double Duty first, it wasn't actually on purpouse I just needed a top/base coat polish. At first I didn't really like it at all. But if you wait for it to completly dry before you put on a polish if you are useing it as a base coat, or wait for your polish to completely dry before using it as a top coat its really good. On a scale of 1-10 I would put it as a 8. I have used a ton of top coats in my day and this one has to be one of my favorites. I took off 2 points because I hate waiting for things to dry. I am the most impatient person I know. Double duty sells for about $4, I suggest if you have a few bucks to spend when your at a drug store, pick it up. 'Cause I love mine.

Hard as Nails

Now this is what I really wanted to talk about. I have brittle nails. They chip, break, split, and even bend. They are super weak and I can never grow out my nails because of it. This stuff has SAVED my poor nails. They are getting long and beautiful and strong. This stuff is my bread and butter! 10/10!! The way I use it is as a base coat, I ALWAYS put this on before I put on nail polish. It acts as a wonderful base coat, strengthens your nails. Oh, I'm in love.  The one I bought has a pink tint. I have also seen blue tint and white with the same name. I don't know the difference between them just yet because I have only bought the one. The plain clear one was about $3, the  pink tint one that I got was about $9, and the blue tint one was about $12. It might be worth the $12 to get the 'better' one. But I am very satisfied with the one that I have. If you have weak nails like me and don't want to spend a ton of money on anything fancy. This nail strengthener is great and will most likely last you a few months. Thats less then we pay for Netflix. So worth the cost.

Dinner for Two Disaster!

So today I thought I would be a little romantic and tried to make something really special for dinner. Turns out my cooking skills really are not the best when it comes to anything fancy, I should really just stick to making sweets after this incident.
       I tried to make Lobster Thermidor, now I expected it to be some what difficult, but truth be told. I think I much have been out of it because I probably could have burned the boiling water if I payed any less attention.

Now What happened was I have never cooked a lobster at all before so I really wasn't sure what I should do. Plus I was cleaning and trying to watch Netflix because I am a terrible binger  when it comes to Netflix T.V. and I thought I could handle it all at once. Sadly not so. I forgot about the lobster and burned it to the point the fire alarms went off! I felt like such a dunce. But at the very least I got something I can laugh about from it and I'm happy that I got a funny memory.  I hope I never cook that badly ever again!

I suggest you guys try to make it and tell me how it comes out! If someone can do it better then me (which is everyone in the whole world) tell me how it was and I'll definitely try to make it again!

Not much else really happened to me today so there is not much to talk about but I do hope to see you guys again in my next post!

Lip Out Loud (LoL) Lip gloss in XOXO (103) and BTW (109)

So while I was at Walgreens I also purchased 2 lovely shades of Lip gloss for the days that Just call for a lighter touch then Lip stick.  Lip out Loud lip gloss was 2 for $5 and I like me some lip gloss, $5 is totally in my budget so I picked these little suckers up. I got the shades BTW and XOXO.

BTW

I really love BTW, its a light shade that accents the normal color of my lips just right. I have fair skin so this really brings color to my face so that I don't look like a ghost! (I don't get out much <3) Its really good if your going for a light and playful look without adding to much color.

Now I like XOXO as more of a night shade, something I would wear on top of a red lipstick to give it a really nice glitter and make your lips pop. It works perfectly well as a gloss by itself and is perfectly suitable for day time use. I just think It makes your already sexy red lips even more kissable with this tint of gloss.
         Might I add that these glosses both smell amazing? To me, BTW smells like watermelons while XOXO is a light strawberry. Watermelon being one of my favorite flavors I have to say I side more with BTW then XOXO.
        What I don't like is how sticky they can be, I like to put it over chapstick because these glosses are quite sticky and feel like they have quite a bit of collagen in them so they make my already pretty full lips feel swollen, and that's not something I really like in my lipgloss so I just negate the effects with a chapstick barrier.
       I think these are good lipglosses for the price and I would recommend them to anyone that doesn't like heavy tinted lipgloss and wants something that looks girly and cute while still being able to pull of edgy if the situation calls for it. I like them, but then again I could be biased cause I love anything that smells good. <3

Earth To Echo Movie Review

So I just finished watching the movie 'Earth To Echo' and I have to say, pretty disappointing really. I'm not saying it wasn't a good movie, I just thought it would be a bit more like a Pixar studios movie rather then a 'Home Movie' type. I am really not a big fan of movies portrayed as filmed by an actual person. I think they are Janky and all over the place making the movie just to hard to watch without talking. Now it may be just me, but when I watch a movie, I like to be quiet and get really into it, 'cause I'm super emotional and like suspenseful movies. I liked the story about it, I liked how each person was portrayed and how heartfelt they seemed. But the first person home movie type man, throws off such a good movie.
     Besides that I really liked Echo, I thought it was cute an playful and something you would want to cuddle if you found it.
     Out of the characters I liked Munch the best, He had a unique personality and was a really quirky kid, I found it endearing to watch him adventure.
     I didn't like Mannequin Girl, I already forgot her name actually, I found her bossy and rude and she was not an enjoyable character for me, the way she played off of the other characters kind of ticked me off also.

Over all, an okay movie. Would I watch it again? No. Would I recommend it to someone? No.
I give it a 2.5/5
Sorry, just not all that enjoyable to me sadly.

Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Cinderella (1106) and Tempest (1184)

Cinderella (1106)

First lets start with Cinderella, I bought these Polishes on a whim while I was at Walgreen's in town. They were super cute colors and much cheaper then Most nail polish and I admit, in the kids section of makeup. next to Elsa makeup from 'Frozen' non the less, these were cute colors! Cinderella is this lovely sparkly, Icy blue color that goes good with pretty much anything you would wear during the day in spring. Now the only complaint I have is that you have to put on 3 coats for it to look like the color you want and its not the quickest drying nail polish in the world but you get what you pay for.
   At $2.99 each I though that these were such a steal compared to the $8+ nail polishes by name brands. To me Sinful Colors does not make a disappointing product. I like Cinderella a lot and will probably wear it all the time.

Tempest (1184)

 I really like this color, in fact I have it on my nails as I type. Its a matte lavender-ish tone that is really nice for evening wear if you don't want anything to dark or maybe anything to sexualized like a rosey red tint. This color you need about 2 coats depending on how much you put on as a first coat, and cost the same price as Cinderella. I was happily surprised over the quality of such a cheap and without a doubt cute product and will be wearing these colors for days to come. I think they fit the spring color scheme just perfectly.

Shara Shara Banana All-In-One Cream

Okay so for me, this lotion is a dream! I love smelling like fruit, I don't really know why fruit just smells so good! This lotion not only smells like your going to eat yourself. but it feels really good on the skin. Now don't get me wrong it took me a little bit of time to get used to it because there is no alcohol in it to dry it up once its on your skin like a lot of lotions have, so at first it made me feel kind of oily and uncomfortable but that's because I REALLY hate the feel of oil on my skin. But once I got used to it, it was great. I smell good and I feel good! What more can you ask from a lotion?
     I got my Banana Honey from memebox.com once again. This time it was CutiePieMarzia4 and the box was around $27 which is a steal because it is a full size product not a sample size 200ml for the price plus other products is just too good to pass up!

I love this face cream SO much. It makes my skin feel so refreshed. This face cream is a moisturizer and is really lovely in the mornings if you ask me. I like to splash cool water on my face after washing and then add no more then a dime sized amount and it feels just amazing. My skin feels smooth for the rest of the day and I have found no downside to this product. Plus it smells good enough to eat!
